Itinerary of the visit
The tour includes the Nuti Hall, built in the mid-15th century at the behest of the lord of Cesena Malatesta Novello, and the Pïana Hall, which houses the book collection of the Cesena-born pope Pius VII Chiaramonti.
These two rooms are accessed by walking through an exhibition space in which the figure and iconography of Malatesta Novello, the history of the Library, and the treasures it holds are illustrated.
The visit is completed by an exhibition of a selection of manuscripts, including one of the choir books from the Cathedral and Cardinal Bessarion choir libraries, the smallest book in the world, and a temporary thematic exhibition with documents from the Library's collections.
The Museum is located on the first floor of the Library, accessible via two flights of stairs or through the use of an elevator. Given the absence of architectural barriers, the visit is also easily accessible to children and people with disabilities or mobility impairments.
The Nuti Hall has no artificial lighting systems and therefore can only be visited during natural daylight hours.
Duration of the visit: approximately 40 minutes
Books and merchandising can be purchased at the Bookshop.
