Description
These
traditional desserts our region:
Bracciatelli (brazadel in romagnolo dialect): a big
biscuit with a hole in the middle. It used to be the typical dessert at
confirmations and the hole was made in order to put the biscuit around the
child's arm as a bracelet.
Castagnole and frappe
during Carnival
Pagnotta pasquale di Sarsina:
this special bread is eaten during Easter mornings with the blessed egg
Ciambella
romagnola: this ring-shaped cake
is eaten while drinking a glass of good wine.
Fave dei morti: anise-flavoured biscuits.
Cantarelle: Cantarelle are a really popular dessert in our
region. They are really similar to Australian pancakes or to french crepes.
They are normally filled with sweet homemade fillings.
Castagnaccio: this dessert is prepared
with chestnut flour.
Zuppa inglese: this creamy dessert is made of chocolate,
cream and a bit of Alchermes liquor (local reddish liquor)
