Description
The Commune of Savignano sul Rubicone lies just between Cesena and
Rimini, on the ancient Via Emilia. The village is worldwide known for
the event in which Julius Cesar crossed the river Rubicone saying 'Alea
Iacta Est' (the die is cast) and causing the civil war with Rome.
Recalls of the roman past are stored in the Museum of Compito, just
beside the Church of St John in Compito. Among the events, to be
remembered the Fiest of St Lucy (on December, 13th), Lights on the City
(from June to September) and the Festival Foto (in September).
