Description
The presence of man is stated here since the end of eneolithic era (2500-1800 a.C.). A fundus Sulliani is mentioned in the Bavarian Codex (IX century). The castle of Sogliano dates back to 1144.
The most important monuments are the Church of Suffragio (1679), the Church of St Lorenzo Marthyr (1784), the Monastery of the Agostiniane (1824). In the vilage of Montetiffi, the Abbey of St Leonard (XI secolo), the Romanic Bridge, the Church of St Benedetto in Vernano (sec. XII).
Other important sites are also the holes for 'fossa' cheese. Events: fiest of cheese of fossa, of savor, of pork. Main activity: agricolture and craft works.
