Description
Built in the half of 11th century, the Abbey is one of the most important romanesque monument that Romagna can boast. It was donated to the Benedictine order by the locals and was ruled by that order until 1444. The abbey was rich and famous and was often the center of battles and conflicts between Guelphs and Ghibellines, as to be fortified in 1384. The interior, solid and stern, with a single nave has a barrel vault in the presbytery.
